Lake George’s 4th annual King George Fishing Derby is scheduled for September 15 – 16 this year.
Last year, blessed with outstanding weather, over 190 anglers competed for over $15,000 in prize money and merchandise. This was approximately a 100% increase over the inaugural event of 2015.
Register by August 31, 2018 to receive an event T-shirt. You can register online at kinggeorgefishingderby.com or in person at Fish307.com which is located at the north end of the Lake George Shopping Outlets – on the corner of Routes 9 and 149.
All local fish and bait shops have brochures available regarding this fantastic event.
Adults compete for Lake Trout, Large and Smallmouth Bass and Salmon. Juniors under 16 years of age compete for Trout and Bass only.
Last year boats came from as far away as Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Final registrations will be accepted on Friday 9/14 from 4-8 PM during check-in at derby headquarters: American Legion Post 374, 3932 route 9L, Lake George, NY.
Awards will be distributed at the American Legion Post 374, as well.
The derby is sponsored by The Town and Village of Lake George, Bolton Landing and Fish 307.com.
All proceeds benefit S.A.V.E. (Stop Aquatic inVasives from Entering) the Lake Fund and has raised over $25,000 to date according to Mayor Robert Blais the Derby’s Chairperson and Fundraiser.
